Additionally, he is a Juris Doctor candidate at the Fordham University School of Law where he is pursuing coursework in the concentration of Intellectual Property and Information Law (IPIL). He currently serves as a Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO) Volunteer throughout New York City’s civil courts where he supports pro bono limited-scope legal services to low-income pro se defendants involved in consumer debt law cases.

Robert’s public service history consists of working as a Program Fellow for the Volcker Alliance. In recognition of this work while simultaneously attending law school, the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) awarded him the 2018 Peter Fugiel Scholar Honorable Mention alongside two other students nationwide.

Robert was also one of four graduate students selected for a research collaborative between New York University’s school of business and school of public service. During this work, he served as a Deep-Dive Associate for Ashoka Social Financial Services and collaboratively developed an innovation brief on employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) that articulated how ESOPs can be innovatively scaled to serve as market-based solutions that support small business continuity and inclusive economic growth.

co-founder and ceo

Valentin is Co-Founder and CEO of X-Urb. Additionally, he is a state and federally contracted Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst with a portfolio ranging from geo-fencing to targeted data analytics operations.

Previously, Valentin was Content Editor at TechMIS, an information technology and cybersecurity company that specializes in innovatively merging behavioral science and computer science to prevent data breaches.

Importantly, Valentin served with distinction for two decades as a United States Army Senior Infantry Noncommissioned Officer. His record consists of service as a United States Army Ranger School Instructor, along with service encompassing direct, operational, and strategic leadership roles during campaigns spanning the Pacific, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Outside of his present roles where he supports numerous aspects of information operations, cyber, military information support operations, operational security, electronic warfare, and deception planning & operations, Valentin is a specialist in geographic information science and cartography as well as a subject matter expert on GIS.

Valentin's multifaceted skill set was refined through the Department of Geography and Environment's technology stream at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His research focused primarily on computer technology with respect to GIS, remote sensing, land surveying, and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR).

Through LiDAR, which is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth, Valentin is able to analyze these light pulses - combined with data recorded by LiDAR airborne imaging systems - and generate precise, three-dimensional information about the shape of the Earth and its surface characteristics.

Valentin has broad knowledge and experience in technology & software systems such as Leica Total Station Theodolite (TST), ArcGIS, ENVI, R, AutoCAD Map 3D, FugroViewer, CloudCompare, QTReader, and is the original thought leader behind the concept of X-Urb. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
